Here's an idea, and y'all can tell me what you think. Thought I'd make a thread for it, instead of taking over Nomie's contest thread. 8-)

Anyway, the idea is for a character swap. Like a secret santa, only the person who designs for you designs a char for you to keep. I'm still working out the details, but basically if you're feeling adventurous, you can let an unknown person design a horse char for you, while you design a character for someone else. Anybody think it's a good idea? Anybody think it's a bad one? Let me know.
Probably, there would be a thread here where you state a few preferences for the person who'll be designing for you. Like boy or girl, age, color preferences, and whether it's realistic/not realistic markings, fantasy or just plain horse, etc.

I think this a very awesome idea! I would definately participate! Although I think I wouldn't do it often because I don't like having too many characters. But I'm in!!

I'm in as well! I love designing characters - and it's an awesome idea to get one in return by somebody unknown. :D

Shall we have finished outlines everyone could use (so you'd really never know who actually designed the horses colours for you) or will everyone draw their own horse in a chosen pose and with chosen colours? It might be fun to have a side- and front-view, maybe a back-view as well to really paint a whole horse from every possible angle. *ponders*

Yeah, this is a great idea! I'm with Nomie though, I wouldn't participate too often because I don't like having a surplus of characters, but it'd be really fun to get one designed by someone else. :)

And actually, I think it'd be a good idea to have a set of horse models that people can color--that way it's more anonymous and more people might be inclined to join in. But then again, if we do it like that, it limits the type of horse that we can design. Like, if someone wants to design a draft/pony/shetland/some sort of wild horse. So, I dunno. Looking at it that way, maybe we should all just do our own drawings? @_@;

I GOT A SCANNER!!! YAY! i don't know if i'm allowed to use it, tho. i'll ask me papa. and if i can use it, i would definately love to be a part of the char. swap!

;)sounds fun,of course i would do it and grats on scanner majik and kasei thats a good idea hmm maby we could make are own model if we wanted a specific type of horse or somthin similar

Sounds like fun to me! I'm new around here so I'm not too knowing bout all the stuff.. can someone please fill me in on what sort of things that you look for in a character? Is it like a movie character, like Spirit, but you invent it? Do you have a background story... sorry I just don't know all that much about what you guys do...

As far as I know it's just a character you invent--just draw something up! :) The horse doesn't have to have a back story or fit into any sort of genre/movie/setting/etc. All of that would be up to the person who recieved the character, I would think. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong though, this is just what I'm inferring. ^^;
